Madison-Sharon L. Winburn age 79 passed away on December 13, 2025 at Homestead Living Facility. She was born on February 23, 1946 in Madison, WI. The daughter of Stephen and Pauline (Lefler) Gambino. Sharon married the love of her life, William Winburn on July 3, 1965. They were together since they were 14 years old. Sharon worked for American Family, Cuna and Great Lake Higher Education. Other than living in Lake Mills, WI for 9 years, they resided in Madison and finally Westport, WI. Sharon was taken ill in July of 2022, then had to be moved to Homestead Living in Waunakee in June of 2024.
In Sharon’s younger years, she was very active in tennis, racquetball, bowling, softball, casinos, loved to play cards and did a lot of traveling.
Her membership at Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeff and Pastor Dan was a very important part of Sharon’s life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sharon is survived by her loving husband William of 60 years; Son Ryan (Naomi) Winburn of Beatrice, Nebraska, Daughter Robin Greisch and boyfriend Van Smith of Mazomanie, WI., Grandchildren Matthew and Micah Winburn and Lily Greisch. Sisters Janice (Robert) Rodefeld, Terri (Ron) Olstad and Francine Jones. Brother-in-laws Raymond Winburn, John (Emily) Winburn, Gary (Linda) Winburn, Sister-in-laws, Martha (Jim) Wickert, Patty (Terry) Meyer and Shannon Winburn. There are numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Pauline Gambino, Stepmother June (Poorman) Gambino, mother-in-law and father-in-law Genevera and Robert Winburn, sister-in-law Sharon Winburn, brother-in-law David Winburn and nephew Tim Winburn.
Sharon has a very special cousin Patty Larsen. She also has her “Friends Forever” that went back to Schenk Junior High, Barb, Judy, Jan, Amy, Patty, Billie, Sandy and Susie.
Special thank you to her friend and member of Messiah Church Linda Olson who would visit and give her communion every month.

Visitation will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church 5202 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison, WI on Monday December 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM and followed by a Church Service with Pastor Dan at 12:00 PM. There will be a luncheon following the service
God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered “come to me” and your golden and warm heart stopped beating. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best. I Love You Sharon Lee Winburn, we will share eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, family and friends in heaven.
