Karen Jones Obituary

Karen Lorraine Jones (née Rolleston), age 76, passed away on December 10, 2025, in Monroe, Wisconsin at the SSM Health Monroe Hospice Home. She was born March 4, 1949, to Newton and Lorraine (Lass) Rolleston in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Karen graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee. After graduation, she went on and received her RN nursing degree from Mount Sinai Nursing School, Milwaukee. She met Curtis Jones of Brodhead and they were married on May 16, 1970. Together, they raised a wonderful family as they worked their farm located outside of Brodhead in Decatur township.

Karen enjoyed many activities involving education, family, friends, and her faith. She loved to cook and bake, read, sing, play piano, and she was a prolific crafter (knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, creating custom-made dressed bears, and many others). Karen was a faithful supporter and attendee of her children's school and community activities (music concerts, plays, competitions), as well as The Fireside in Fort Atkinson. She loved angels, Precious Moments, music (60s and Christmas) and animals, especially cats. She shared her time and talents as a member of Eastern Star, Bethlehem Lutheran Church Choir and Circle, Christian Women's Club, Needle Clickers, Decatur 4-H leadership, and Brodhead Dairy Queen mom. Karen served as a second shift supervisor at Pleasant View Nursing Home and Monroe Manor in Monroe, Wisconsin for many years, leaving lasting impressions on those she worked with and cared for. Karen touched so many lives and humbly did not give herself the credit so truly deserved. She was a faithful servant of God and loved her husband and family deeply.

Survived by: Husband Curtis Jones; Children: Allison (Scott) Lange of Waukesha, WI, Christopher (Kristi) Jones of Evansville, WI, Nicholas Jones of Janesville, WI, and Melissa (Paul Schad) Jones of Appleton, WI; Grandchildren: Eli, Issiah, Zach, Jorah, Parker, Alexander, and Evelyn; Sister-in-Law: Rebecca Haling; Brother-in-law: LaMerl Hammon; Cousins: Mary (Chuck) Howell, Thomas (Karen) Mashek, and Robert Mashek; several nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors, including all her children's friends who called her their second "Mom".

Preceded in death by her parents Newton William Rolleston and Lorraine Myrtle Kapusta, stepfather Joseph Kapusta, brothers James Rolleston and George Rolleston, sisters-in-law Barbara Rolleston, Christine Hammon, and Caroline Kamps, and brother-in-law Gerald Kamps.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the SSM Health Monroe Hospice Home staff for their unwavering compassion and outstanding care of Karen during her short stay.
